ABOUT PILATES
Pilates is an exercise system developed by Joseph Pilates to strengthen muscles, increase flexibility and improve overall health. Exercises are performed on a mat and on specially designed equipment. Of these pieces of equipment, the Universal Reformer (also known as the Reformer) has gained the most widespread use due to its effectiveness for all ages and ability levels.With focus on engaging the mind with the body through attention to breath, form, and fluid movement patterns, Pilates training strengthens the core, improves balance, increases coordination and decreases stress.

Pilates Mat Classes
The traditional Pilates floor work sequence strengthens and stretches your entire body while decompressing your spine and improving posture; leaving you energized and refreshed. This class introduces you to the principles of the Pilates Method while waking up your deep abdominal and spinal muscles and teaching you how to modify the workout to a level appropriate for you. You will increase core strength, develop long, lean muscles, balance strength and flexibility, heighten body awareness, improve balance, and increase coordination and circulation. It can benefit everyone from rehab patients to athletes.

Flow Reformer Pilates

FLOW REFORMER CLASSES
All movements in Pilates are done with a sense of rhythm and flow, creating smooth, graceful, and functional movements.This principle is thoroughly embodied in the fluid choreography of a Reformer class. Each session addresses virtually every part of the body with emphasis on core strengthening and cultivation. Moves can be varied and modified to suit each client’s needs and fitness level. Reformer sessions provide a refreshing and energizing workout while improving strength,muscle tone, flexibility, and coordination.

GETTING STARTED
All clients new to Pilates are asked to complete five private sessions in order to effectively learn the fundamental movements and cueing language of the practice.This also gives the instructor an opportunity to assess each client’s individual needs and guide them towards either continued private training or a suitable existing group class.

Duets are offered to give two clients booking together a more personalized and private class setting.Two clients new to Pilates may book their introductory five private sessions as semi-privates as long as appointments are booked together.

GROUP INSTRUCTION (3 STUDENTS)
Uplifting and energizing classes for the experienced and committed student, flow is cued at a faster pace, fundamental moves are fine tuned, and intermediate and advanced moves are introduced. Every effort is made to place clients who have completed their five introductory private sessions in a group appropriate to their fitness level.
